Advanced programming models for Services |
Topic leaderMarco Danelutto, marcod@di.unipi.it
Short descriptionThe main goal of the research group is the investigation of new, innovative and efficient programming models raising the level of abstraction presented to the programmers of service based applications and supporting both plain service orchestration and autonomic management of non functional concerns (self-* properties). The research challenges in this field are related to i) the identification of appropriate, high level patterns modelling service orchestration, ii) the investigation on non conventional programming models to be implemented on top of services, iii) the identification of proper patterns supporting autonomic management of service orchestrations and iv) the design of suitable frameworks and policies supporting multi level and multi goal autonomic management of service orchestrations. All these research challanges will be considered in both the grid and the cloud computing scenario.
KeywordsDesign patterns, autonomic computing, service orchestration, service coreography, self-* concerns, QoS, SLA, grid and cloud architectures.
